Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel is finally showing the AC Milan faithful what he can bring to the side after his performance against Fiorentina on Monday night. The Holland international is currently on loan with the Serie A side from Chelsea, but he has struggled with injury and form since arriving in Italy during the last summer transfer window.
AC Milan are going through a crisis at the moment which could cost Filipo Inzaghi his job as the Italian side’s coach. They lost again on Monday night to Fiorentina and are now struggling to qualify for next season Champions League. However, Calciomercarto have reported on the only positive for AC Milan during the defeat, which was the performance of Van Ginkel.
The Italian football outlet said that a good Van Ginkel finally emerged after his first half display, in which they said the midfielder showed good moves and quality. Calciomercarto believe Van Ginkel is now crucial to AC Milan in terms of the outcome of their season. There are just eleven Serie A games remaining and the Dutchman could have a huge bearing on their final league position.
Van Ginkel has struggled to make an impact with AC Milan since he arrived at the club at the start of the season. The youngster was still recovering from a horrific knee injury he picked up playing for Chelsea the previous season, and found it difficult to regain his fitness since returning. Even when fit Inzaghi has been reluctant to use him, but judging by his performance against Fiorentina the AC Milan coach may need Van Ginkel to save the clubs’ season.
